This Spumante Rosé is part of the Dubl line of Feudi di San Gregorio: Classic Method bubbles made from native Campania varieties. Produced only from Aglianico grapes, of a soft pink color of great brightness, with a subtle and persistent perlage, it opens to the nose with aromas of ripe red fruits, in a pleasant association with hints of soy. Perfect with fish first and second courses, it is indicated in combination with rustic pies, vegetable soups and fresh cheeses.

Ancient vine of the Roman era, Fiano was named Latino to distinguish the vine from the origins of Greco. It is a rigorous vine that prospers well in soils of volcanic origin as in these clay deposits. Its entymology refers to Apanius and the apiane grapes mentioned by Columella and Pliny. Its name was traced back to the bees who would have been greedy to acquire the grapes’ sugar. Another hypothesis about this name arrives from a variety of apple (Appiana from Appio) or from an ancient synonym for the Peloponnese.

Greco di Tufo is the most noble of the southern Italian grapes. It was known in ancient times as Aminea gemella, as it developed a large number of double clusters. According to Aristotle, the vines of Aminee came from Thessaly, the land of origin of the Thessalians who settled in Campania and planted the Greco vines on the slopes of Vesuvius. Columella, Plinio and Virgilio wrote that the grapes of Aminee have been enjoyed since antiquity for their capacity of producing wines with aging potential. The site of Tufo has been for centuries one of cultivation of Greco, given the virtues of the extraordinary characteristics of its soil.

Feudi Di San Gregorio Ros’Aura Irpinia Rosato DOC is produced in the communes of Taurasi, Pietradefusi, Castelvetere and Paternopoli in Campania. 10 – 20-year-old vines are grown between at 1,000 – 1,650 feet above sea level. Grapes are grown with 5,000 vines per hectare in deep soil originally from ash and fallen pumice from Mount Vesuvius. On the nose, it gives sensations of fresh red fruit, from strawberries to raspberries of the forest, ending in notes of cherry. In the mouth, it presents a freshness recalling red fruit just harvested. From our Aglianico grapes is born Ros’Aura, a cherry color rosé of fresh and intense fruit and floral aromas.

A wine with fragrant, sweet and enveloping notes. The Fiano Passito of the Campana Feudi di San Gregorio winery can boast the denomination Irpinia Fiano Passito DOC.  Vinified with 100% Fiano grapes . The bunches of this precious vine undergo a drying process. They are placed in small boxes and taken to a ventilated room for 8 weeks in order to obtain the necessary sugar content. Then follows the fermentation and maturation in barrique for 6-8 months. Finally the refinement for 12 months in the bottle. Brilliant golden robe, it releases intense and refined notes of dried apricot, candied orange and crunchy hazelnut, honey, ginger and iodized nuances. The taste is delicious, sweet but not cloying, supported by good acidity and with a very long persistence of honey and almonds.
