Basilisco Winery is an organic estate in Barile, in the heart of Basilicata’s Aglianico del Vulture DOCG region. Founded in the early 1990s and now part of Feudi di San Gregorio, the estate is managed by Viviana Malafarina and cultivates 25 hectares of organically farmed vineyards on the volcanic slopes of Mount Vulture.
Rich mineral soils, high elevation, and wide day–night temperature shifts give the wines their structure and depth. The estate’s Aglianico grapes are aged in historic 15th-century tufa caves, creating elegant, long-lived wines such as Aglianico del Vulture Superiore DOCG and Teodosio—true expressions of Basilicata’s volcanic terroir.
