Monteu Roero, Cuneo
This leading estate in the Roero district has been a family affair since 1670. Today, it is led by Giovanni who is also mayor of Monteu Roero. His wife Marisa and children Gabriele, Angelo, Emanuela and Giuseppe all hold various positions and contribute to the running of the estate. Their vineyard situated in the historic region that still bears the name of the powerful and influential Medieval banking family, Roero, is home to the two most lauded grape varieties of this beautiful region, the Nebbiolo and the Arneis.
Rich, bright ruby red with a brilliant core. Great nose of ripe strawberries and pickled cherries, rosehip tea and delicate vanilla beans. On the palate supple and tightly woven texture, nestles very well on the tongue, polished ripe fruit, opens up on the back end with hearty tannins, rich drive and a long finish.
Garnet red colour. Clear and intense bouquet with hints of spices, dried roses, violets and undergrowth.
It has full expression of the soils that characterize Serralunga. The taste is rich and full, characterized by a solid body and silky tannins. Persistent aftertaste.
