Vines have been growing in the stony lands near the ancient walls of Montalcino ever since 1363. The current company was founded in the 1970s by Domenico “Delfo” Berni and is today managed by the Pignattai family, who carry forward his legacy with dedication and a deep respect for tradition.
These wines get their name from a mountain, Montepietroso, near Palermo and are characterized by a warm, balanced taste that reflects the Mediterranean climate. The grapes are grown on sandy soil, which is ideal for the Grillo grape variety.
