Wine has been produced on the Conte Loredan Gasparini estate since the 1300s and was even been praised by historian Bonifacio in 1590. Its original founder planted Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Malbech vines which are still there today and produce Conte Loredan Gasparini’s esteemed quality wines. Their famous “Capo di Stato”, has been included in a French publication entitled “100 vins de légende” as one of the 100 wines in the world that, for its history and venerable quality, can be unanimously considered as legendary. The company’s whites are also glorious, worthly placed besides a Prosecco Superiore, coming directly from the vineyards of the ASOLO DOCG area, with its distinguished body and notorious quality. Loredan Gasparini built a cellar for aging wines, which today is completely modernized and integrated with French oak barriques (Nevers, Tronçaisand Allier) and Slovenian oak, which were added to the traditional casks of 25 hectoliters volume (660 gallons) for the aging of wines.

This original CUVÉE INDIGENE derives from a selection of the best grapes from the old “Belvedere Vineyard”, a plot dating back to 1969, situated on the Montello hillside (to the North of Venice) in the historic Prosecco Superiore area.Apart from the characteristics of the grapes used, which stem from old Prosecco clones, another feature of this Cuvée is the natural wine-making method used. The Asolo Prosecco Superiore DOCG that Loredan Gasparini produces comes exclusively from grapes harvested in the Giavera del Montello estate, a splendid uncontaminated hilly area in the north of the province of Treviso. The biodiversity that Loredan Gasparini preserve in their vineyards has also allowed them to select an indigenous yeast with which they ferment and make sparkling all otheirProsecco, in order to enrich it with all the character of the territory of origin. A decidedly superior Prosecco in terms of structure and complexity.

When Count Loredan, after several years of production of high quality wines, began to use a mature viticultural estate, in the ’60s he thought about the creation of a special reserve of Venegazzù Red Wine. Thus, the idea of a delicious wine, produced in limited quantities and vintages, was born, and it was soon on the menu for many special occasions. In particular, it gained appreciation in Venice, and then in the whole world. Among its first fans, were many Heads of State, most notably the French President Charles de Gaulle and in his honour, it permanently took the name of “Head of State”.

First vintage of Riserva “Capo di Stato” was the 1964.

This sophisticated white introduces itself with a delicate straw yellow color and aromas of white peach and Williams pear, with white flowers delivering freshness.
