The flagship of the estate remains Oreno, cult wine for many, whose superior quality has long been honored by numerous awards, both national and international. All wine is aged in French oak barrels to give it vibrant colours, harmonious flavours, roundness and spicy notes.
Crognolo is named after a wild bush, Cornus, that grows abundantly on the estate. Made predominantly from Sangiovese which produces elegant and age-worthy wines, Crognolo brings together the class of Sangiovese with the complexity bestowed by the aging in oak.
What to say about a wine who’s rating outspends all the most famous Super Tuscans? In a word, magnificent. Wine Spectator was the first to attest the quality of Super Tuscans, changing forever the concept of criticism about these wines. Now, more than 10 years after its first vintage, Oreno changes history, with an impressive average rating. What is even more impressive, 58% under average price of the most famous wine of the same classification. Amazing feat of a unique wine.
Made with pure Sangiovese varieties grown in in the almost century-old vineyard, the rich flavour offers a subtle hint of tobacco and leather, paired perfectly with wild floral notes and delcate tannins. A versatile drop, Vigna dell'Imperio is best enjoyed with pasta, meat, poultry and cheese.
